The harsh weather conditions that have led to a prolonged drought and hunger in the horn of Africa have not spared Mandera County. In Mandera West District, residents have lost hundreds of livestock and some residents have been constantly on the move in search for water and pasture. And as Richard Chacha reports from Takaba, transporters have resorted to taking half of relief supplies from government, as their cost of distributing the food aid.
